The purpose of this book is to provide a glimpse into the daily life of a parish priest in the early part of the 21st Century in North Carolina. A secondary purpose of this book is to add to the rich history of the Parish of St. Catherine of Siena in Wake Forest, N.C. and the Diocese of Raleigh, of which the parish is part.
This journal is a personal reflection of just one priest, so in no way should it be seen as an official mouthpiece for other priests, the parish as a whole, or the Diocese of Raleigh. Furthermore, I remind the reader that this journal is a one-year "snapshot" of my life. Hopefully, the person who wrote this in 2004 is not the same person who lives today.

About the author
Fr. Robert J. Kus, R.N., Ph.D. is Pastor of the Basilica Shrine of St. Mary in Wilmington, N.C. Ordained a Catholic priest in 1998, Fr. Bob is also a sociologist, psychiatric-mental health nurse, writer, university professor and police chaplain. In addition to practicing nursing in many states, he has been on the faculty of several universities including The University of Montana, The University of Iowa, The University of Texas at Austin, and North Carolina State University. His homilies were created for parishes with heavy concentrations of children and young adults who love a good story.
