Looking at Heaven (Mirando al Cielo) is a powerful movie produced in Mexico that tells the inspiring true story of St. José Sánchez del Rio, a 15 yr. old martyr during the Cristero War.

During the brutal religious persecution in Mexico from 1926 to 1929, in a heroic act of battle, José is captured after saving his Cristero general, and taken to his village to be executed for treason. The deputy sheriff, José’s godfather, is the highest authority of the town, who would have to give the execution order. This is a true story of faith, family, and forgiveness about one of the youngest saints who sacrificed everything for his love of Christ the King.

Written and directed by Antonio Peláez, and starring Julián Fidalgo as José Sánchez del Río. Includes special bonus documentary The True Story of the Cristeros.
