Gold Filled Scapular Pendant - 0611

This round gold filled Scapular medal measures 5/8 x 1/2 inches. It comes with an 18 inch gold filled chain. The front of the medal bears the profile of Jesus with the Sacred Heart. The back of the medal depicts the image of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

In 1910, Pope St. Pius X introduced a scapular medal which may be substituted in most cases for any of the various scapulars. Valid enrollment in the scapulars must, however, be made before the substitution. The Medal privilege, granted by the saintly Pope Pius X, was intended only for those who could not wear the cloth Scapular, such as those in the service of their country, those in boiler rooms or similar industrial professions and natives of tropical countries.
