42cm Wood carved Pieta from Italy - approx. 16.5 inches tall

Hand carved and color stained this depiction of the Blessed Mother cradling her crucified son is an incredibly moving piece of religious art. The artist has created a unique image of the sorrow of that moment. The statue has applications of 18kt old gold leaf applied to veil, gown and sash.
