In 1858 in Lourdes, France our Lady appeared to Bernadette Soubirous, (now Saint Bernadette). This apparition was approved in 1862, when Pope Pius IX authorized the Bishop Laurence to permit the veneration of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Lourdes. Our Lady of Lourdes has become a popular devotion as millions have asked for Mary's intercession at the Grotto and throughout the world, as well as the testament of the healing power of the faithful at Lourdes.
This statue is a beautiful depiction of Our Lady of Lourdes based on St Bernadette's description of her.
This resin and stone cast statue stands 14 inches in height and is hand-painted by the artists of Joseph Studios.
