According to its mission statement, “Divine Mercy Radio is a lay apostolate dedicated to sharing the truth and beauty, and the love and joy of the Catholic faith primarily through radio. Our mission is to strengthen Catholics in their faith, to invite fallen-away Catholics back to the faith, and to inform non-Catholics of the gospel of Jesus through programming which proclaims His message of truth, mercy, and love.”

This station broadcasts 24 hours a day in eastern and central North Carolina on 540-AM, since February 4, 2019. It is also available online (see link, above), and via its own app (available from the app store, for free!). Since last month, Divine Mercy Radio is also broadcasting in Spanish on 1240-AM (also online and via the same app). A full listing of programs, for children as well as for adults, is available on the website and on the app.

Many of the programs broadcast are produced by EWTN, the Catholic network founded by Mother Angelica. But there are also locally produced programs on this local station. Daily Mass and numerous devotions (e.g., the Holy Rosary and the Divine Mercy chaplet) are part of the regular programming schedule, as well as call-in shows and other productions meant to inspire, teach, and sanctify the listener. It is the hope of these two radio stations to present the beauty and truth of the Catholic Faith to non-Catholic listeners as well as to the most devoted Catholics. Testimonies from those who have listened assure those involved in this work that the efforts to share the faith via these broadcasts are producing good fruit. For some, listening to Divine Mercy Radio has been their first contact with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and/or the Catholic Faith. For others, hearing these broadcasts has been the beginning of their path of return to an active practice of the Catholic Faith.

This apostolate is entirely funded by contributions from listeners and other supporters. As a non-profit project, underwriters contribute and business sponsorships are available for those who might wish to support this apostolate of evangelization in these ways.
