St. Clare, mystic and founderess of the Franciscan Poor Clares. She is the patron saint of television, Assisi, the blind, glaziers, glass painters, laundry women and embroiderers. Frequently depicted with a ciborium or monstrance because history tells us she invoked Jesus' holy presence in the Eucharist to turn back an attack by Sarcacens.
Her feast day August 11th.
