Dispute at the Blessed Sacrament

SKU: 44597

18 x 24 digital canvas transfer in deluxe framing. From the Transfiguration Collection.

Digitally reproduced from the original work from Stanza della Segnatura, Stanza of the Signatura, (original Vatican City 1508-1511).

Two levels, heaven and earth, both come together in the Blessed Sacrament on the altar. The Blessed Sacrament is heaven's gift to the world. At the same time it is an invitation to join the Holy Trinity. This fresco represents Revelation of God.

The subjects of this begin with the Trinity at the top of the fresco. Just below the Spirit are the four open books of the Gospels. The saints and prophets depicted are: St. Peter, Adam, St. John, David, St. Lawrence, Jeremiah, St. Paul, Abraham, St. James, Moses, St. Stephen and Judas Maccabeus. On the bottom are Doctors of the Church - St. Gregory the Great, St. Jerome, St. Ambrose, St. Augustine, St. Thomas Aquinas, St. Bonaventure and Dante.

This fresco with its harmony and balance between the contemplation of heaven and the adoration of earth, between the Church militant and the Church triumphant and between the holy ones of the Old Testament and the Saints of the New Testament, could be called the Triumph of the Church and of the Faith.

The overall size of this piece measures 24 x 30 inches in size and is framed in a beautiful gold and green braided-look frame.
